Dr. Steven Bomeli was raised in Cleveland, Ohio and went to the University of Notre Dame for undergraduate studies. He completed medical school at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, and residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. This training included all aspects of comprehensive otolaryngology, in addition to salivary endoscopy and complex head, neck, and skull base surgery. During his final two years of residency, he was awarded the outstanding educator award by his peers. After finishing residency, he practiced as a general otolaryngologist outside of Charlotte, NC where he found his passion for thyroid and parathyroid surgery

Before relocating to Atlanta, he completed an additional year of advanced fellowship training in complex thyroid and parathyroid surgery at Georgia Regents University. This subspecialty training included nerve monitoring, ultrasonography, and minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques. He also brings subspecialty experience in minimally invasive parotidectomy, balloon sinuplasty, hearing disorders, tinnitus, obstructive sleep apnea, and management of allergies to Atlanta. In addition to performing minimally invasive head and neck surgical techniques, he is a pioneer in minimally invasive office procedures such as removal of nasal polyps, relief of nasal obstruction, and balloon sinuplasty. These techniques allow rapid recovery from procedures which formerly required risks and costs of general anesthesia in the operating room.

Dr. Bomeli is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, and he has been elected by his peers to Castle Connolly Top Doctors annually since 2017.

His personal interests include automobile restoration, traveling, and outdoor activities with his wife, son, and daughter.

He has privileges at Northside Hospital Atlanta, Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, and Atlanta Outpatient Surgery Center.
